S.S. Rajamouli has officially unveiled his next grand cinematic venture, titled Varanasi, in a spectacular event held at Ramoji Film City. The announcement has sent waves of excitement through Indian cinema.
The film, initially known under the working title Globe Trotter, was formally christened Varanasi during the “Globetrotter” launch event, which featured a dramatic motion-poster presentation. At the heart of the reveal was Mahesh Babu, who makes a striking appearance riding a powerful bull, brandishing a trident.
The film brings together a high-profile ensemble Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
According to Rajamouli, Varanasi is not just an action-adventure but a time-traveling journey that relates with Hindu religion. Varanasi is inspired from the Ramayana.
The film’s release is slated for 2027, according to production insiders. The budget is reportedly ₹1,000 crore, indicating Rajamouli’s aim for a truly blockbuster-scale epic.
